QUOTES FOR ARTISTS:

A sincere artist is not one who makes a faithful attempt to put on to canvas what is in front of him, but one who tries to create something which is,
in itself, a living thing.
—William Dobell

It's not a matter of painting life; it's a matter of giving life
to painting.
—Pierre Bonnard

Every artist dips his brush in his own soul and paints his own nature into his pictures.
—Henry Ward Beecher

I was poor but I knew that life is beautiful. And I had no other ambition than to discover with the help of new means those deep inner ties that linked me to
the very soil.
—Maurice de Vlaminck

Learning is finding out what you already know. Doing is demonstrating that you already know it. Teaching is reminding others that they know just as well as you. You are all learners,
doers, and teachers.
—Richard Bach

I do not literally paint that table, but the emotion it produces
upon me.
—Henri Matisse

I am always doing what I cannot do yet, in order to learn
how to do it.
—Vincent Van Gogh

To affect the quality of the day, that is the highest of arts.
—Henry David Thoreau

The more perfect the artist, the more completely separate in him will be the man who suffers and the mind which creates.
—T.S. Eliot

The greater danger for most of us is not that our aim is too high and we miss it, but that it is too low and we reach it.
—Michelangelo Buonarroti
